Music Award Maastricht for Inspyria Quartet

28 April 2022

This year's Music Award Maastricht is for the Inspyria Quartet with students of the classical department: Pedro Cruz Vieira (violin), Marnix Verberne (viola), Isabel Olmo Lorenzo (cello) and María del Mar Moreno Raya (piano). The jury prize of Conservatorium Maastricht and the Rotary Club is worth 5000 euros. And the audience award of 1000 euros went to Quartet MSM. A total of four ensembles competed for first place last Saturday during the twentieth edition of the Music Award Maastricht.

Talents
The most talented Bachelor and Master students in the field of classical music took part in the jubilee edition of the music competition. Normally, one year the focus is on the piano and the next year singing or violin. But especially because of the jubilee, we have deviated from this cycle for once and chamber music ensembles competed against each other. Each ensemble consisted of three to four musicians. The participants were:

  • Inspyria Quartet
  • Quartet MSM
  • Kchachaturian Threesome
  • Øsimun Quartet

The professional jury consisted of chairman Jos Roeden, Nino Gvetadze, Hylke van Lingen and Dominique Vleeshouwers. The jury assessed the students on their musicality, potential and presentation.

Sponsors
Thanks to sponsors, the Music Award Maastricht of Conservatorium Maastricht and the Rotary Club Maastricht can offer the winners an important support on their way to a successful musical career.
