Step 1
Application and audition deadlines
EU candidates
- Apply before 1 March β if you pass the admission procedure and meet all statutory requirements, you are guaranteed a place.
- Apply between 1 March β 1 May β possible, but a place in the programme cannot be guaranteed.
Non-EU candidates
- Apply before 1 March.
- If you want to register after this date, please send an email to the head of programme, Irja Zeper (irja.zeper@zuyd.nl).
Audition dates

First-round auditions: 15 March β 15 April.

Second-round auditions will take place between 15 May - 15 June.
Step 2
Check your prior education
To study a Master programme at Conservatorium Maastricht, you must hold one of the following:
- A Bachelorβs degree in Music, or proof of an equivalent level of knowledge and skills tailored to the programme.

- You must also meet our language requirements.

Step 3
Register via Studielink
First, register through Studielink, the national application portal for Dutch higher education (also available in English and German).
When registering:
- Select Zuyd University of Applied Sciences as your institution
- Select Master of Music as your study programme
β No audition fee β you only pay tuition once admitted.
After registration, you will receive:
- Proof of registration and a student number;
- Login details via Zuyd ICT Departement (via noreply-ict@zuyd.nl) for Zuyd online facilities (email, Moodle, Teams, Zuydnet). Do not confuse your username and password with the login data you have created for Studielink;
- Non Dutch applicants will receive a invitation (via noreply-osiris@zuyd.nl) to upload documents (passport, diploma, etc.);
- Non European applicants will receive a questionnaire around May (via noreply-osiris@zuyd.nl) for the application of the resident Visa/residence permit

Step 4
Entrance Examination
Now that you have registered, the next step is your entrance exam. The audition consists of a practical exam and an interview.
Practical exam
- Certain documents must be submitted, including an audition video, by the deadline (1 March or 1 May, depending on your application date)
- Specific admission requirements are available on our website β select your main subject.
- Detailed instructions will be sent by email.
Based on your submitted documents, a decision will be made whether you will be:
- Invited to an interview
- and / or a live/streaming audition, or
- you will be rejected.
Interview (20 minutes)
The interview focuses on the Master Research Project (MP), which is a key element of the Master of Music study. It evaluates your:
- investigative attitude
- critical thinking skills
When invited for the interview, you will receive instructions on how to prepare.
Admission decision
After both parts (practical and interview) are completed, you will be notified whether you have been admitted to:
- the Master programme,
- the Preparatory Course Master, or
- if your application has been rejected.
