2nd European Opera Academy Open Days: a successful and enriching project hosted by Conservatorium Maastricht!

From January 25 to January 30, Conservatorium Maastricht hosted the European Opera Academy days. More than 40 students, between active and visiting students, more than 20 teachers and representatives of the professional world, coming from 13 EOA-partner institutions participated 5 intense days full of masterclasses, panel discussions, Showcases and a Gala Concert at our conservatory with the most complete art form that ever existed: Opera. Public performances were offered at Centre Céramique, Theater aan het Vrijthof and the Willem Hijstek Zaal of Conservatorium Maastricht. During the EOA General Assembly partners presented the EOA 2024-2025 modules, targeting singers, pianists, conductors and instrumentalists. Currently, the EOA  application period is open, and the EOA encourage Conservatorium Maastricht’s students to apply.

Founded in 2015 by Conservatorium Maastricht, the EOA is an ambitious platform of music academies that promotes best practices in opera education for young professionals. A solid project with almost a decade of existence, it is a meeting point for international benchmarking in professional opera education. Simultaneously, the platform has proven relevant, connecting Conservatorium Maastricht with opera professionals at a national and regional level, such as Opera Zuid or Opera Compact among others.
