Appointment of Rinze Krijgsman as Interim Head of the Classical department

11 November 2024

We are pleased to announce that, effective December 2, 2024, Rinze Krijgsman will be joining Conservatorium Maastricht as Interim Team Leader for the Classical Music Department. Rinze will be stepping into the role held by Mette Laugs and will oversee educational and operational responsibilities within the department.

Rinze brings a strong background in music education and organizational leadership, which will be invaluable to our team. “I am excited to work in an environment where we all share the same passion: nurturing talent development,” he shared.

Rinze studied Classical Trumpet from 2005 to 2008 at the Prince Claus Conservatoire, where he has also served as Interim Team Leader for Classical Music and as a Conductor. His professional focus includes fostering development, mastery, and autonomy. Alongside his musical studies, he holds a degree in organizational psychology from the University of Groningen, with a specialization in organizational change, and has worked extensively as a change consultant for both public and private sectors, employing a methodology he developed.

We look forward to welcoming Rinze to our team and are confident he will make a positive impact on our community.
