Piotr Torunski is steadily gaining attention as a talented bass clarinet /clarinet player. With numerous performances at internationally recognized venues, musical awards, and a refreshingly original sound, he continues to expand his reputation as a talented and versatile musician. He graduated from the Music Conservatory in Katowice (Poland) Master Classical Studies (2003-2008). During his studies he collaborated with Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice directed by Krzysztof Penderecki and Sinfonietta Cracovia directed by John Axelrod (USA).

In 2008-2009 he internationally cooperated with Jim Black, Ravie Coltrane and Ralph Alessie. The documentary ”Small spaces” about jazz won the Gold Remi Award at the 42nd International Festival "Worldfest" in Houston (USA) in "The Arts/Cultural" category. In 2011 he was very successful with the highest grade in the Master Class Conservatorium in Maastricht (The Netherlands) with a score of 10/10 on bass clarinet in the Jazz Department tutored by Mr. Claudius Valk. His first solo album ,,The Bass Invasion” premiered in New York in Break Thru Radio and the later album ,,Moods” (Torunski Brothers) became an instant hit in 2014 . In 2012 he was awarded with the prestige Hustinxprijs (The Netherlands). In 2018 he won the Prix Du Meilleur Instrumentiste on the Avignon Jazz Festival Contest – Best Instrumentalist Prize.
