The 13th of June, Vivian Knols, lecturer at the Music in Education programme (Docent Muziek) at Conservatorium Maastricht, organised a workshop at the European Association for Music in Schools (EAS) conference. The workshop, titled "Music & Subject Integration: Six Ways to Transform the Curriculum," and highlighted the importance of integrating music with other subjects for music educators.
In collaboration with Johan Sterken from NHL Stenden University and Benno Spieker from ArteZ Conservatory, Knols presented a project promoting the integration of music with other school subjects. This project resulted in six video clips and workshops for current and future lecturers. During the EAS workshop, participants designed lessons integrating music with other subjects, based on six forms of subject integration. The goal was to enhance understanding of subject integration and share effective lesson designs.
We are proud that our teacher Vivian contributed to the EAS conference, and look forward to hearing about her experiences.
