Markus Wienstroer (born June 24, 1959 in Dusseldorf) is a German musician, who is active in the field of rock and pop as well as jazz as a studio and live musician. He works mainly as a guitarist.

Wienstroer began to play the violin at the age of seven and since the age of eleven has been a junior student at the Robert Schumann University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf.
He toured and recorded with Randy Brecker , Lalo Schifrin, Jeff Hamilton, Ginger Baker, Ray Brown, Marius Müller-Westernhagen, Vitesse , and many others.
He is one of the most recorded guitar players in germany and played on thousands of recordings, including several hit-singles ,commercials, movie scores . He was the guitar player in the Harald Schmidt TV Show for 7 Years . He is able to play a great lot of different musical styles ranging from jazz , blues ,  rock to country -music.
He currently teaches at 'Institut für Musik der Hochschule Osnabrück' and the 'Conservatorium Maastricht`. He also writes for the magazin 'Acoustic Player' .
