Inge Pasmans

As well as being a main subject lecturer in Music Theory at Conservatorium Maastricht, decorated pianist Inge Pasmans (born 1980) teaches general theory subjects in the Music in Education department and the Classical Music department (Bachelor's programme). She is currently a member of the Teachers’ Council and project leader of Music in the Making, an innovative and creative project in the Classical Music department. As a pianist, she performs with various chamber music ensembles, wind bands, and choirs. She has also worked from 2008 till 2016 as a research coach in the Master's programme in Classical Music.

Through the Research Centre for Arts, Autonomy and the Public Sphere, Inge Pasmans conducted extensive research into historical performance practice of Mozart’s early sonatas in relation to modern instruments. In 2015-2016 and 2017-2018, Inge participated in research projects, led by the Research Centre, on creative processes, respectively in the department of Music Education and in the department of Classical Music.
She studied at Conservatorium Maastricht, obtaining her Bachelor's degree in Music Theory with John Slangen and Charles Hendrikx and her Bachelor's degree in Piano with Joop Celis and Tony Ehlen. She continued her studies in Music Theory at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, graduating in 2006. She completed her postgraduate Piano studies in 2008. Pasmans has also attended masterclasses in piano with Jan Wijn and Igor Roma, and song accompaniment with Semjon Skigin and Elly Ameling.

Inge Pasmans is sinds 2004 docent Algemeen Theoretische Vakken in de opleiding Bachelor Muziek Klassiek en Docent Muziek. Verder is zij onderzoekscoach in de opleiding Master Klassiek. Zij studeerde voor Bachelor Theorie aan het conservatorium te Maastricht bij John Slangen en Charles Hendrikx en Bachelor Piano bij Joop Celis en Tony Ehlen. Deze laatste opleiding sloot zij met onderscheiding af. De voortgezette opleiding Theorie volgde zij aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium in Den Haag bij P. Scheepers, D. Wagenaar en Th. Goedhart. Deze sloot ze in 2006 af; de voortgezette opleiding Piano voltooide ze in 2008 bij Joop Celis. Zij volgde masterclasses piano bij Jan Wijn en Igor Roma en liedbegeleiding bij Semjon Skigin en Elly Ameling. Verder is zij actief als uitvoerend musicus in kamermuziekensembles en de koorwereld. Van 2010 tot 2013 was zij lid van de kenniskring bij het lectoraat Autonomie en Openbaarheid en deed onderzoek naar de historische uitvoeringspraktijk in relatie tot moderne instrumenten.
Sinds 2015 is Inge Hoofdvakdocent Theorie der Muziek aan het conservatorium te Maastricht.
