Alexander Boerner

Bass guitarist Alexander Boerner (born 1963) has taught Jazz/Pop Bass Guitar and Combo Playing at Conservatorium Maastricht since 1993.

He combines his love of jazz, world music & Latin-American styles with frequent appearances in funk/soul bands, and is a regular contributor to theatre and musical productions. He also has his own audio studio in Cologne. As a bassist, he has participated in various CD recordings. In 2010, the album ‘Space For All’ was released, with trumpet player/composer Rob Bruynen's quintet Brownies Colours.

Boerner studied under Marcel Schimscheimer, David de Marez-Oyens, Theo de Jong, Victor Kaihatu, Ruud Ouwehand and others at the Hilversums Conservatorium. He has also taken part in workshops by artists including John Scofield, Albert Mangelsdorff, John Patitucci, Lincoln Goines, Chuck Rainey, Linley Marthe and Richard Bona.
