Moving Concerts by Conservatorium Maastricht

In the Moving Concerts, Conservatorium Maastricht collaborates with concert stages in the Euregion. This way they provide concert opportunities for top ensembles, top soloists and other larger ensembles or orchestras. This way, the Euregion can experience what these young musicians can offer, and students can experience how a professional performing career might be like. These young musicians, or ‘moving musicians’, learn about a professional attitude next to their excellent performance quality, which will help them in their professional career. The ‘moving musician’ touches, affects, thrills…

Eugenio Palumbo is a highly praised mandolinist recognised for his virtuosity and expressive abilities. Promoter of the original historical repertoire he is convinced that the production of new works is fundamental to the rediscovery of the mandolin. Every year he collaborates with several composers to create solo and chamber works, resulting in publications and premieres. Highlights of the 2022/2023 season see performances of Vivaldi's Mandolin Concertos with the Virtuosi Italiani and he J.S. Bach’s Harpsichord Concertos transcribed for mandolin with the Orchestra Bruno Maderna. He conducts several chamber music projects, the main ones with guitarist Roberto Guarnieri and harpist Anna Pilleroni. Palumbo has participated in various opera’s and orchestral’s productions, including the Cherubini Orchestra conducted by M°Riccardo Muti. Born in 2001, he began studying mandolin with his father until graduating with honours from the Brescia Conservatory under Dorina Frati.

Anna Pilleroni is one of the new harpists on the Italian music scene. She started showing interest in the harp thanks to her passion for ballet, which she has studied for 14 years. Listening to ballet music while dancing, ignited her love for this fascinating instrument, and through this art she learnt to embody elegance, harmony and discipline, values that are reflected in her music. She began harp studies with M° Ester Pavlic and graduated from the Conservatory of Music "Luca Marenzio" in Brescia in July 2023. Currently she is persuing a Master's in Classical Music in harp at "Conservatorium Maastricht" with M° Emily Hoile. She collaborates with various ensembles, including the "KhromaDuo" with mandolinist Eugenio Palumbo and the "Rainbow of Magic Harps" ensemble. Anna has performed in prestigious theaters and collaborates with orchestras such as "Brixiae Harmoniae," "Philarmonie Sittard," "Limburg Yeugd Symfonie Orkest," and "Orchestra STU.D.I.O." led by Maestro Pier Carlo Orizio and Pierangelo Pelucchi, which held concerts in the Canary Islands in 2022.
