An Evening of Musical Highlights

Max Bruch’s First Violin Concerto is one of the most cherished pieces in the repertoire. Despite his own doubts about the work, it became a true classic. The renowned violinist Joseph Joachim, who also advised Beethoven and Brahms, helped Bruch refine the composition. The result? A concerto that has captivated audiences since its premiere in 1867.

Brahms’ Fourth Symphony tells a different story. Initially met with hesitation, the composer remained steadfast in his vision. Today, this symphony is regarded as one of the most remarkable in music history. Bruch himself predicted it: "As time passes, Brahms’ music will be more and more appreciated. In fifty years, he will be considered one of the greatest composers of all time."
