This edition is all about the future of the bassoon, the future of music and the future of the earth. More than 150 bassoonists from the Netherlands and abroad travel to Maastricht for dozens of masterclasses and workshops and to participate in competitions. There are concerts by big names such as Paul Hanson, Stefano Canuti, Calefax and Bram van Sambeek. Bassoonist and until recently globetrotter Bram van Sambeek, has decided because of this festival to drastically reduce his number of long journeys as a musician.
