Felix Havenith (1982) is Hoofd van het programme docent Muziek. Daarnaast is hij docent vakdidactiek en stagecoördinator en begeleider. Vanwege zijn ervaring met educatieve muzikale projecten in Bolivia en Sri Lanka, leidt hij de specialisatie Music and Interculturality en is hij aanspreekpunt voor, en begeleider van internationale projecten en internationale en interculturele stages binnen de opleiding Docent Muziek. Naast zijn muzikale functie is Havenith ook regio-coördinator voor Young Professionals Overseas (YPO) een organisatie binnen Zuydhogeschool die studenten de kans biedt om ver buiten hun comfort zone aan hun interculturele competenties te werken in het kader van een stage of minor. Muzikaal samenspel is de rode draad in de 15 jaar die Felix actief was als muziekdocent in o.a. het VO; van onderbouwklassen en school(samba)band in de onderbouw van het vmbo tot praktijklessen koor en ensemble in de eindexamenklassen havo/vwo.. Felix voltooide na het atheneum zijn Bachelor in Music in Education aan het Conservatorium Maastricht en behaalde in 2018 de Master Kunst, Literatuur en Samenleving aan de faculteit van Cultuurwetenschappen van de Universiteit van Maastricht. In zijn thesis onderzocht hij de relatie tussen artistieke autonomie in een hybride beroepspraktijk vanuit een herziene kijk op ambachtelijkheid. Op projectbasis heeft hij in verschillende pop-, blues- en jazzformaties en vocale ensembles gespeeld. In zijn slagwerk-workshops staan non-verbale communicatie en synchronisatie door actief muzikaal samenspel centraal.

Felix Havenith (born 1982) is head of the Music in Education programme. He lectures in Teaching Methodology and is a teaching practice coordinator and tutor. Because of his experience in setting up music education projects in Bolivia and Sri Lanka, he is in charge of the specialisation programme Music and Interculturality, and he supervises and coordinates international projects and international and intercultural teaching practice in the Music in Education department. In addition to his work in music, Havenith is the regional coordinator of Young Professionals Overseas (YPO), an organisation within Zuyd University of Applied Sciences that offers students the opportunity to go far beyond their comfort zone and work on their intercultural competencies as part of a work placement or minor.
Making music together was the theme running through Felix's 15 years as a secondary school music teacher; from giving the junior years music lessons and leading a school samba band for the lower years of the vocational stream, to teaching practical choir and ensemble lessons to the final years of the two highest levels.
After his pre-university education, Felix obtained a Bachelor's degree in Music in Education at Conservatorium Maastricht and a Master's degree in Art, Literature and Society at the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences of Maastricht University. For his thesis, he conducted research into the relationship between artistic autonomy in a hybrid professional practice from a new perspective on craftsmanship. In project settings, he has played in a variety of pop, blues, jazz and vocal ensembles. In his percussion workshops, he focuses on non-verbal communication and synchronisation through active musical interaction.
