This week we raised a glass to Frans Gulikers, who is going to leave Conservatorium Maastricht for a well-deserved retirement. It was a nice farewell party with colleagues, students and family.
Frans studied guitar, composition and saxophone, and he also obtained a Master's degree in Special Educational Needs.
At the Music in Education Department he was a guitar teacher, and he taught Poppracticum, he was a study career counselor and was part of the Advanced and Basic Teaching skills team as well as the Master Education track. In recent years, he has been active on the Examination Board and the Academy Council. His natural interest and need to research and develop things has been visible throughout the whole conservatory.
Every alumnus recognizes the image of Frans during the Popweek; as carefully listening, playing usually with a percussion instrument and a smile on his face and enjoying what his students had put down.
Thanks again for all these years, and on behalf of the entire community we wish you the best of luck! We hope you keep looking for us!
