Conservatorium Maastricht is delighted to welcome Nicolas Arsenijevic, distinguished French saxophonist, soloist, and pedagogue, for an exceptional full-day masterclass devoted to the art of the classical saxophone.

Born in 1988, Nicolas Arsenijevic is a graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris and laureate of numerous international competitions, including the Adolphe Sax Competition (Dinant), Andorra Sax Fest, and the Josip Nochta Competition (Zagreb). His career has taken him across the world as a performer and teacher, appearing in masterclasses and recitals throughout Europe, Asia, and the Americas.

As a soloist, he regularly collaborates with leading ensembles such as the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France and the Ensemble Intercontemporain. His discography reflects a wide-ranging curiosity, spanning romantic works with piano or string quartet, contemporary creations, and traditional Balkan music with his ensemble Kosmopolitevitch. Deeply engaged with today’s music, he has premiered works by composers including Christian Lauba, Riccardo Nillni, Maël Bailly, Florent Caron Darras, and Benjamin Attahir.

Appointed Professor of Saxophone at the Paris Conservatoire in 2024, Arsenijevic is recognized for his artistry, intellectual depth, and inspiring teaching.

This masterclass offers participants the opportunity to explore tone, phrasing, interpretation, and creative collaboration under the guidance of one of Europe’s leading saxophonists, an artist whose playing continually redefines the expressive possibilities of his instrument.
