Symposium Music CARES

On Saturday May 20th the symposium Music CARES will be organised. On this day connections will be made between music, healthcare and a new generation of musicians.

Muziek Jong voor Oud offers senior citizens who are not able to go theaters anymore the opportunity to enjoy classical music at their own (elderly) homes. By doing so the organisation contributes to the quality of life. During the symposium connections will be made between young musicians of the Conservatorium Maastricht and professionals from the South-Netherlands Philharmonic and between traditional and innovative ways of performance practise. The importance of art and the social duty of artists will be discussed.

It will be a special meeting between musicians, healthcare professionals and other people who are interested in these subjects. The following subjects might give you some inspiration:

  • Workshops ensembles Muziek Jong voor Oud and musicians of the South-Netherlands Philharmonic, Armen Nazarian (viola), Tijmen Wehlburg (violin) en Roger Debougnoux (clarinet)
  • Presentations by Kathinka Poismans, Senior Lecturer, researcher; Lectureship Knowledge occupational therapy & Master of Arts Therapies (Music & Care), Fenna Ograjensek-Muziek Jong voor Oud (Cultural Entrepreneurship & Society), Susanne van Els-Conservatorium Maastricht (A new generation of musicians), Roxanne Doyen-South-Netherlands Philharmonic (Social innovation)
